Israeli tank fires on car near Gaza City

The footage, initially shared on social media, has been pinpointed to the Salah-al-Din Road, which serves as the primary north-south route in Gaza, using geolocation by BBC Verify.

The video captures a car heading toward a tank and subsequently executing a three-point turn to move away from it. The tank is then seen firing, resulting in the car's explosion. The footage is filmed from another car, which departs the scene after witnessing the explosion. They confirmed the location using satellite images, identifying it as a segment of the Salah al-Din road situated 2 kilometers north of Wadi Gaza.

This video represents the most profound penetration into Gaza by Israeli forces since their ground operations expanded on Friday. Internet connectivity within Gaza has been significantly disrupted recently, limiting the availability of footage, with only a few videos released by the Israel Defense Forces.

BBC conducted a reverse image search on frames from the tank video but found no copies before this morning, indicating it was uploaded for the first time today.
